Every summer long-distance cyclists pass through Warren, many with hopes
to cross the country using
PA Route 6 which passes right through downtown.
Despite lore to the contrary, Route 6 (not Route 66) was the first national road
that went coast-to-coast, starting on Cape Cod and finishing in San Francisco.
       The area is home to many, many biking enthusiasts and it has many
miles of bike trails, including lots of
mountain biking. and a yearly race. Soon
a bike trail will be completed that runs from Water Street in downtown Warren,
through North Warren and past the Warren Commons shopping center all the
way to the Warren Mall.  (
